Just a little something silver...

While browsing Tiffany & Co. (doesn't everybody do that?) I came across the Elsa Peretti table/home collection. I usually just look at the jewelry, but lately I've noticed that Tiffany has been producing some really lovely modern table pieces that are so much more interesting than the typical "classic Tiffany" design.

Elsa Peretti is known for her famous thumbprint design and I'm really loving the bowl in silver and gold. I guess I wouldn't say no to the blue or red glass either!

Now lets look at some other pieces. I'm not judging, but does someone really need a $300 pizza cutter or pasta spoon? I guess that's what wedding registries are for!

Floor Art

Reading up on The Love List, I came across Jess's post about Studio Bijoux's Floor Jewels collection, and to say the least, I am blown away! At first I thought they were pieces or artwork, and I guess they still are, just for your floor instead of your walls!

The agate (In two colors?? How could I choose just one??!) and the zebra. I die. They are just so fabulous! I think the typical cheetah print rug has been replaced!

Do yourself a favor and go to their website and check out all of the other designs!

Design Challenge

So this week in my interior design studio we are supposed to be brainstorming floor plans for a living space without a television. At first, I though, no one has those rooms anymore! You know, the "fancy" living room with the white furniture that Mom won't let you go into. Most living spaces I'm seeing are integrated into the kitchen or a room that functions as many things, one of them being a place to kick back and watch TV. But as I started looking through my inspiration files and browsing some blogs, I realized how nice it would be to have a room solely for entertaining or relaxing without the TV on.

My biggest turn on are the rooms with massive bookshelves. If there isn't a TV, there must certainly be books! (and maybe a mini bar!)

Something kinda fun and artsy?

Ummm that chandelier??? I die. It's so wonderful.

Something more traditional?

Eric Roth Photography

Catching up on sabbespot today, I found her post about a great living room with amazing wall stencils, but what really interested me about the photo was the photographer. Eric Roth is based out of Topsfield, Mass and his work is amazzingggg! Not only does he have a great eye, but the interiors and houses he's photographing are out of this world! I recommend looking through his portfolios on his website and taking it all in.

Kitchen Design

I've been assigned a project for my interior design studio at school to create plans of kitchens for a house of my own design. I love to cook, so I though I knew exactly what I wanted out of my own dream kitchen, but there are so many choices that it's difficult to decide! All I know is that I will definitely need lots of storage for all of my dishes and glassware (an obsession) and a giant gas stove!

Here are a few kitchens that are inspiring me!

Sorry about all of the Unknowns! I had a lot of these in an inspiration file that is pretty old...

Help support a sudent design project!

A few friends of mine over at the Olin School of Engineering have created a clock that will "change the way you think about time".

Named the iconic model 01, this clock uses pictorial images to help you visualize when you need to accomplish tasks, or just relax. The iconic provides a central magnetized clock face and has two different icon sets made from etched stainless steel that can be attached to any metallic surface. Use the icons provided or add even more with your own magnets and images.

Help support a great student led project and get one for yourself or a friend!
